Yarmouth Nova Scotia

This amazing video written and narrated by Bruce Bishop, with photography and editing by Sue Hutchins, an ICY Person … not because she’s cold … but because Sue beleives that those usually refered to as Come From Away (CFA) should more accurately be described as ICY (I Chose Yarmouth)

I like the ICY title much better because it positively includes those who come from away, as well as those of us who have made a decision to stay, to make our home here in Yarmouth County.

Sue is definitely one person for whom Yarmouth should be thankful. She and her talents serve us all very well.

This video is but one of Sue’s projects, click here to learn more about Sue, and how she helps to promote our corner of the world for the residents, businesses, and visitors to Yarmouth County and surrounding areas.

We at YarmouthCounty.com want to thank Sue, and other ICY people, for contributing so much to our local area.

Hope you enjoy the video!

Sincerely,
Brian Hurlburt

We’ve been dealing with our own inconvenient truth at YarmouthCounty.com this week! For those of you who don’t know we had a virus hit the servers we’re hosted with and the good news is the virus has nearly been dealt with and now is the job of repairing the damage. That has been our personal inconvenient truth this week! However, our inconvenient truth pales before the true Inconvenient Truth that this post actually is written about!

As the title, An Inconvenient Truth, states it is but one inconvenient truth! However, it may be the number one inconvenient truth that we may face during our lifetimes!

So what is the Inconvenient Truth that I’m refering to?

The Al Gore film, An Inconvenient Truth, of course!

The Al Gore film, An Inconvenient Truth, is playing this evening at the NSCC Burridge Campus, room 181, on Thursday March 8. at 7pm. A discussion will follow, facilitated by Bill Curry.

This is a a free showing of Al Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth” sponsored by TREPA and Trout Unlimited Canada. More information 742-5542.

Al Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth” is an Academy Award-winning documentary film about climate change, specifically global warming, directed by Davis Guggenheim.

An Inconvenient Truth is also the title of a companion book he authored, which reached #1 on the New York Times bestseller list.

The film premiered in the 2006 and is the third-highest-grossing documentary in the United States to date. Gore and Paramount Classics, the film’s distributor, have pledged proceeds from the film to further educational campaigns about climate change. The film was released on DVD November 21, 2006 and is available by clicking here.

An-Inconvenient-Truth.com ran by Maui Media, is a great place for you to find related media that will wake you up, uplift, inspire, and get the blood pumping. They’re interested in making the world a better place, and they literally work 24 hours a day to make it happen.

We’re as close to a virtual company as you can come. A handful of full-time employees work on the paradise island of Maui, Hawaii. Writers, designers, coders, accountants, and interns work all over the country and the world. No matter what time of day it is, there’s someone working on at least one Maui Media project.

There are many people with great ideas, fantastic books, and inspiring stories, and Maui Media make it their job to make sure that we hear about them.

Cutting edge technology, good old-fashioned PR, enthusiasm and passion are put into action so that you hear about their projects, films, books, and services that make a direct difference in our lives.

They do all of this from a real sense of “Aloha.” Providing mutual respect and affection. Warmth and caring for the sake of warmth and caring, and in Hawaii, the entire community – share.

If more of us felt Aloha, then perhaps An Inconvenient Truth, would not be so inconvenient! For together, we can – and do – make a difference to the entire world.

When you Live Aloha, you gain a deep sense of belonging to a community and caring for each other. Forgetting to Live Aloha can lead to big, bad trouble.

The film An Inconvenient Truth offers compelling evidence that we are one big global family. And we’re at risk of losing our home.

So, come out this evening, Thursday, March 8, 7pm at the NSCC Burridge Campus, room 181, to the free showing of the film An Inconvenient Truth, with a discussion, facilitated by Bill Curry, to follow and sponsored by TREPA and Trout Unlimited Canada.

Perhaps together we can find a little sense of Aloha our selves, and help spread it to our community as a whole!
